TASTE/SMELL, PINK EYE, MUSCLE ACHES = PRAY AT HOME!
Update: February 16, 2021
As announced by the Provincial Government, 27 public health regions are moving from the shutdown and stay-at-home order to reopening framework. This also includes the Ottawa region. Since this announcement, Masjid Bilal’s management is working hard in preparing the Masjid to welcome our community with the maximum of 30% capacity while keeping the 2-metres social distancing rule intact. You will be happy to know that for this phase, Masjid Bilal will be open for the Fajr, Maghrib, Isha & two Jumu’ah prayers as of Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Additional good news is that with these new guidelines, we can accommodate 200 people in each of Jumu’ah prayers, Alhumdulillah. Please follow these protocols as they have been developed with the guidelines of Ottawa Public Health:
- Registration is required for participating in the congregational prayers to maintain contact tracing requirements.
- Onsite registration will be done for the Fajr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers.
- Arrive early for check-in as the doors will close 5 minutes before Iqamah.
- For attending the Friday prayers registration must be completed online through the Masjid Bilal website. Registration for Friday prayers will open every Wednesday after 8 PM.
- We highly respect the seniors and elderly of our community and because they are at a greater risk to contract the virus, we encourage them and those with pre-existing medical conditions to continue to perform their prayers at home. Please use your best judgment.
- Please come prepared with wudu etc. before coming to the masjid as the restroom facilities’ access is limited at this time.
- A face mask is required at all times when in the masjid.
- It is required that you please bring your own prayer mat.
- We also urge community members to take notice of the recommendations/guidelines provided by Ottawa Public Health.
