How to use MasjidPass
A streamlined, efficient way to manage Contact Tracing at Masjid Bilal
Sign up for your MasjidPass at myonlinemasjid.ca
As of Wednesday, March 17th 2021, contact tracing at Masjid Bilal will be managed through a new, digital system. You will only need to register once to receive your personalized QR code, which will then be used going forward to identify visitors to the masjid to facilitate with provincial contact tracing requirements. A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that can be easily scanned by any camera. Once you have your QR code, no advanced registration will be required to attend the masjid on a regular basis – you will only need to scan your QR code at the masjid on arrival.
You can sign up via the Masjid Bilal homepage or through the link below.
Register on myonlinemasjid.ca to create your QR code
You will need to provide your First Name, Last Name, and Mobile Phone Number to generate a QR code that is unique to you. The Mobile Phone Number must be able to receive SMS text messages. If you are not able to receive an SMS message, please visit the masjid and we can create a QR code for you.
Note that your personal information is not shared, and is used only to contact you in the event of a positive COVID-19 report.
Read the Acknowledgement and click the Register button
This will create your unique ID in the MasjidPass system.
Receive your SMS verification
Once you’ve registered, you should receive an SMS notification with a temporary verification code. This ensures that the Mobile Phone Number you entered is valid and belongs to you.
Enter your verification code
Enter your verification code to complete your registration process. You only need to do this once!
You now have your QR Code!
You can now present this QR code every time you visit the masjid, rather than manually registering each time.
You can add this QR code to your phones’ home screen button by pressing the “Add to home screen” button. Click “Install” on the prompt.
Print your QR Code
if you don’t want to carry your phone, you can also print out your QR code by clicking the “Print” button on the myonlinemasjid.ca page. You can present a paper version of the QR code instead of your mobile phone.
First-Come, First-Served
With this system and the increased capacity, the Masjid will now be open for prayers on a first-come, first-served basis – no registration is required for individual prayers going forward.
Once the masjid has reached 15% capacity, the doors will be locked and no more visitors will be allowed to enter.
Register for Special Events
For special events (e.g. the Eid prayers), pre-registration will be required. Information on the event registration process will be shared ahead of these events.
